Behind the Easel

As autumn weather begins to breeze into southwestern Utah, I feel a surge of energy, and this morning went for a short hike along the Virgin River before sunrise. As I photographed the Virgin River, a flock of geese flew over my head, and they were captured in a separate photo. Combining these two photos, I started work on a new piece of art using Champagne Silver foil for the background to the sky, finished this afternoon. When the gilding settles, a painting of the river bending under the gorgeous sky with geese becomes a new work of art.
